INSURERS SETTLE AFTER WRECKED PLANE IS SHIPPED TO THE UNITED STATES
An Australian woman was seriously injured in a light plane crash at Camden in southern New South Wales, Australia, in 1992. Four people died in the crash. Tom sued the aircraft’s manufacturer in Alabama, USA. Tom had the wrecked aircraft shipped to the United States in a container and then hauled to Alabama where the case was to be heard to enable the jury to see the evidence. His actions led to the successful settlement of the case by mediation with the U.S. insurance company.
